01 / THE SPACE
Begin with the room.
Identify the spaces to furnish and how each one will be used. An executive cabin, a shared office and a boardroom need different furniture arrangements.
- Record the room dimensions, doors, windows and fixed elements.
- Note power points, floor boxes, screens and other equipment.
- Identify regular users, visitors and meeting capacity.
- Allow room for movement, chair use and storage access. Have the final layout checked for the site’s access requirements.
02 / THE FURNITURE
Think in rooms.
Then in quantities.
List the furniture needed in each space before combining totals. Note whether a quantity means desks, chairs, tables, work positions or individual storage units.
EXAMPLE FORMAT · NOT A PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
Use the project planner to keep collection totals and room notes together. If you already have a BOQ, use that as the detailed item schedule.
03 / THE DETAILS
Confirm what matters.
Materials & finishes
Record your preferred tone, surface and upholstery direction. Confirm actual samples and product specifications before ordering.
Function & fit
Define chair adjustments, storage access, desk equipment and any required testing or documentation for the exact products being considered.
Delivery & installation
Record the location, target dates, access restrictions and delivery phases. Agree installation responsibilities and the handover requirements.
Government procurement
Use the requirements in your procurement documents as the starting point. Required dimensions, standards and supporting reports should be confirmed against each proposed item.
04 / COMMON QUESTIONS
A few things to know.
Who is Furnoma for?
Furnoma’s website focuses on furniture for government and PSU offices, private companies, corporate workplaces and the architects or consultants planning them.
Are the photographs exact products I can order?
The photographs illustrate collection and workspace directions. They are not a confirmed product catalogue or completed Furnoma projects. Product options, dimensions, finishes and availability need to be agreed for your brief.
Can I prepare a brief without prices or final quantities?
Yes. Choose the collections you are considering, leave quantities open where needed and record your requirements. Commercial details can be discussed once the scope and product options are clear.
Do the products meet a particular tender or standard?
This website does not claim certification for any specific product. Identify the standards and documentation required by your project, and confirm supporting evidence for the exact products proposed.
What happens when I download my brief?
A text file is created in your browser. You can also print the brief or save it as a PDF using your device’s print options. No enquiry is sent by either action.
Where is my shortlist saved?
Collection selections, quantities and room notes are saved in this browser on this device when browser storage is available. They are not shared between devices. Remove a collection from your project to delete its saved details. Project and contact fields are not saved by the planner.
